How Online School Works

A School Without Walls
The Top School provides a balance of structure and flexibility. The system is designed to accommodate diverse learners with uniquely tailored lessons that keep your students engaged while allowing flexibility in their learning pace.
1
The Top School delivers the same foundational educational knowledge that you’d find in a brick-and-mortar American school, but it has one monumental benefit—it takes place online.
2
Our collaborative environment promotes optimal learning by connecting parents, teachers, and students. The learning experience can be tailored to each individual student, and parents have unique insights into their child’s educational process
3
Classes take place online in a virtual classroom, giving parents and students unfettered access to the convenient learning system, no matter where they are—as long as there’s an internet connection. This flexibility means that classes can be attended from home, travel, and everywhere in between.
4
Students enrolled at The Top School can access the online learning system at any time, any day of the week. Immediate access to lessons helps support advanced learning initiatives for age groups from kindergarten through high school.
Online classes work similarly to those in conventional brick-and-mortar schools. Your student attends live classes in a virtual classroom, engaging in lessons and assignments individually and in groups. They complete assignments offline and submit them to teachers.

CCSS ( American Common Core State Standard)
01
What is Common Core?
The Common Core State Standards Initiative is a state-led effort that established a single set of educational standards for kindergarten through 12th grade in English language arts and mathematics.
02
What do educational standards entail? (English language arts)
Common Core is intended to cover fewer topics in greater depth at each grade level. In the English language arts, the Common Core State Standards require certain content for all students, including: Classic myths and stories from around the world; America’s Founding Documents; Foundational American literature: and Shakespeare.
03
What do educational standards entail? (Math)
In Mathematics, the Common Core State Standards lay a solid foundation in: whole numbers; addition; subtraction; multiplication; division; fractions; and decimals. The middle school and high school standards call on students to practice applying mathematical ways of thinking to real world issues and challenges in an attempt to prepare students to think and reason mathematically.
04
Four reasons in support of Common Core:
1. It improves standards for learning. “Common Core offers American students the opportunity for a far more rigorous, content-rich, cohesive K–12 education than most of them have had.”
2. Promotes consistent standards, “clarity and consistency in what is expected of student learning across the country.”
3. The standards are internationally benchmarked and informed by other top-performing countries so that all students are prepared to succeed in our global economy and society.
4. The standards ensure students develop the skills and knowledge to graduate college and be career-ready. They will help teachers “design lessons that address the particular academic needs of their students rather than relying on textbooks or scripted, pre-packaged lessons.”
